A Memorial Service for Carleen H. Vogen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Carleen passed away June 30, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 77. She was born April 25, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Berniece Gerard Sylvester. Carleen began her career as a hairstylist. After she was married in 1967, she was a stay at home mom and homemaker. She was very active in the PTA and PTO, and was a former PTSO member and president. She was as avid artist and designer of the Crystal Lawns Cricket mascot for her children’s elementary school. She was a Plainfield Athletic Club softball coach for many years, and a former member of the Homettes and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Joliet, Illinois. She retired from the Plainfield School District 202 in 1993 as a bus driver. Carleen lived in Mountain Home since moving from Plainfield, Illinois.
She is survived by her two children, Darren (Michelle) of Napa, CA and Kimberlee (Karl) of Roselle, IL; and two granddaughters, US Army PFC Kelsiee Vogen of Savannah, GA and Ashley Vogen of Napa, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The family would like to thank their Mountain Home friends for the past few months for all prayers, support, and visits, as well as Hospice of the Ozarks for making her journey peaceful.
