Carol Averill

Memorial Services for Carol JoAnne Averill of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating.

Carol passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 78. She was born November 8, 1932 in Moundsville, West Virginia, the daughter of George W. and Gladys Moose McHenry. She married Gary Averill on April 20, 1952 in Ashland, Ohio. Carol lived in Norfork, Arkansas for 15 years after moving from Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

She owned her own florist shop when she lived in Pennsylvania and signed for the deaf. She was active with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas and led the Women's Ministry at Twin Lakes Baptist Church for 10 years.

Carol is survived by her husband Gary, of Mountain Home, daughter, Stephani Lynn and husband Mark Wuthnow, of Niles, MI; Three sons: John Michael and Missy Averill, of Nikiski, AK, Paul Daniel and Barbara Averill, of Yardley, PA and James Nathan and Andrea Averill, of Schnecksville, PA; brother, George and Joy McHenry of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Jean McHenry of Dayton, TN; 11 grandchildren, Melanie (Ron Gramza), Merrilee (Kenny Powell), Melissa, Andrew and Stephen Wuthnow, Sadie Rayne, Isaac, Addison, Zachary, Jordan and Matthew Cohen, and great-grandson, Chase.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Beverly Craig. Her remains will be laid to rest in Ashland, Ohio.

In honor of Carol's dedication to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, it would be appreciated if those attending her memorial service would bring a non-perishable food item.
