A Funeral Service for Carrie Tyler of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Ronnie Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Carrie passed away December 4, 2016, in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 101. She was born February 8, 1915, in Reed, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Alfred and Minerva Evie Marler Dilbeck. She married Dave Tyler on August 9, 1942, at Pilgrims Rest, Arkansas and was a homemaker. Carrie lived in Baxter County for 60 years. She was a member of the West Side Missionary Baptist Church, longtime member of the NRA and supporter of the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.
Carrie is survived locally by her son, J. D. (wife, Evelyn) Tyler of Gassville, AR, two nieces, Mary Walton of Mountain Home, AR and Cathy Copeland of Pineville, AR and one nephew, Robert Goforth of Gamaliel, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Roy Lee Dilbeck and sisters, Thelma Dilbeck and Arrie Goforth.
Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Gassville, Arkansas with Tim McFarland, Ron Weaver, Bill Eubank, Robert Goforth, Johnny Goforth and Denny Copeland as pallbearers.
