Funeral services for Carroll Eugene Allen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Deidre Roberts officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, July 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Carroll died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 76. He was born November 28, 1933 in Oquawka, Illinois, the son of Jessie and Lucille Parsons Allen. He married Patty Robertson on November 17, 1994 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Carroll lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1975 moving from Quincy, IL. He worked for Motorola in Quincy for 28 years then owned the Sportman?s Lodge in Mountain Home from 1975 through 1993. Carroll then was a school bus driver for 24 years for the Mountain Home schools. He loved to fish, watch the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks. Carroll is survived by his wife Patty; 2 sons, Kenny Allen of Mountain Home, AR and Bobby Allen of Springfield, MO; 3 daughters, Carol Jean (Robin) Ratliff of Heber Springs, AR, Cheryl (John) Dampier of Lakeland, GA and Bunny (Steve) Hemming of Melbourne, FL; 2 brothers - Jim (Ruth) Allen of Quincy, IL, Bill (Becky) Allen of Quincy, IL; 3 sisters, Anna Chapman, Ethel Willingham and Virginia (Jr.) Kaelber all of Quincy, IL; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his special friend, Charlie Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Wilma Allen, second wife, Romona Allen, grandchild, Eric Allen and sister, Dorcas King. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Carol Loitz, Jess Soaps, Steve Genter, Ron Briggs, Al Ing, Jan Beasley, Judy Betts, Henry Hubbard and Jerry Dickerson as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
