A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Catherine Patton Black, 88, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 18, 2011 at The Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Carl Cook officiating. Catherine died Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Mountain Home. Catherine was born August 18, 1922 in Morrilton, AR, the daughter of John and Vera Johnson Patton. She attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for three years. She married Dewitt Talmadge Black Jr. on February 12, 1944 at Memphis, TN. Talmadge passed away in March 1957 and Catherine married Lane Jordan in Crossett, AR and was married to him for 35 years until his death in 1993. She moved to Mountain Home in 1994 and married Russell Heldenbrand in 1996. Russell died in 2003 at the age of 87. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and the Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Catherine is survived by 3 sons; Dewitt "Dee" (Ricci) Black of Hamilton, VA, Dr. John Patton "Pat"(Rhonda) Black of Mountain Home, AR, William Lawrence "Larry" (Darrah) Black of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren; Christina (Kyle Epting) Black, Susannah Black, Witt Black, Brian Black, Patton Black, Virginia (Perry) Osborn, David Black, Colby (Tiffany) Black, and Chris Black and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International or the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
