Catherine Deckert died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 89. She was born October 20, 1919 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Burlie Guy and Constance Woodring Williams. She married Bill Deckert and worked as clerk in the post office and jewelry store. Catherine lived in Mountain Home since 1975 moving from Tucson, Arizona. She was a member of two Cancer Survivor Groups. Survivors: Catherine Deckert is survived by 2 daughters, Penelope C. Hancock of Wichita, KS and Virginia Rae (Joey) Brooks of Tucson, AZ and niece, Marilyn Long of Mountain Home, AR, Grandchildren, John W. Hancock, R. Jay Hancock, W. Bradford Brooks, R. Britton Brooks, Great-Grandchildren, Ashley Brooks, Tyson Baker, Robbi Hagen, Taylor Akin, Lauren Akin, Mallory Hancock, and all her friends at the Cancer Survivor's Groups. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Deckert and parents. Funeral: Services for Catherine V. Deckert of Mountain Home, AR, will be private. Burial: Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
