Charles Ashby

Charles L. "Bob" Ashby was born November 17, 1912 at Chariton, Iowa to Jess R. and Georgia Bond Ashby. He was a retired Insurance Executive for Equitable Life Insurance Company and a WWII Coast Guard Veteran. He married Doris Ashby on January 15, 1944 at Waukegan, Illinois. He moved to Mountain Home in August 1993 from Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 15 days. Survivors: Bob Ashby is survived by two sons; Doug Ashby of Boone, Iowa and Robert (Diane) Ashby of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and one grandson; Eric Ashby of Iowa City, Iowa. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers. Funeral: A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Cromwell, Iowa. Memorials: Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
