A Graveside Service for Charles Joseph Pate Sr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Joel Huddleton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Chuck passed away June 11, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was born June 21, 1945, in Long Beach, California, the son of Edgar C. Pate and Olga Evona Smith Pate. He married Patricia Beatty on January 26, 2003, in Mountain Home and worked as a Journeyman for the Smithsonian Institution. Chuck was a U.S. Marine veteran during Viet Nam where he received a National Defense Service Medal, a Meritorious Mast, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Marksmanship Badge: Rifle. He lived in Mountain Home since 1991, moving from Maryland. Charles loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, barbeques, waterskiing, crabbing and riding his motorcycle. Chuck was a well known fishing guide on Lake Norfork.
Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Pate of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Lisa (Robert) Lee of Mountain Home, AR and Tricia (Kevin Michael) Diaz of Springfield, MO; son, Charles Joseph Pate, II of Denver, CO; step-son, Michael Manship of Rockingham, NC and ten grandchildren, Shauna, Sierra, Corbin, Cody, Hunter, Raylee Ann, Mackenzie, Cole, Jessica and Rowan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Eddie Bansemer, Rick Horne, Robert Lee, Allen Holt, Nathan Veerplancke and Ken Meister as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246, the United State Marine Corps Honor Guards and the Patriot Guard Riders.
Memorials may be made to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas or Serenity Inc.
