Funeral services for Charles Samuel Dale of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 19, 2010 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Ray Postelwait officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Charles died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his residence, at the age of 93. He was born April 12, 1917 in Burrell Township, Iowa, the son of John Everett and Nancy Ann Smith Dale. He married Hallie Opal Short on April 12, 1941 at Princeton, Missouri. He worked as a photographer for EG & G Test Sight and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Charles lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1977 moving from Leon, Iowa. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Charles is survived by his wife, Hallie Dale of Mountain Home, AR, 3 daughters, Judy (Herman) Short of Osceola, IA, Linda (Dale) Johnson of Las Vegas, NE and Deborah Malcevicz of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Alta (Benny) McDaniel of Davis City, IA; 7 grandchildren, Stacie Lloyd, Gary Short, Chad Lloyd, Dale Short, Lance Short, Shayne Short and Dale Malcevicz and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery in Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks.
