A Celebration of Life for Charles Anthony DeVoney, 87, of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 1:00P.M., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Galatia Christian Fellowship Church with Pastors Dennis and Ray Lamb officiating.
Charles passed away February 26, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born January 2, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles and Lene Medlaff DeVoney. He married Joyce Karnes on December 27, 1992, at Arkana, Arkansas and worked as a heavy equipment truck driver. Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran and lived in Norfork since 1991, moving from Port Angeles, Washington. He was active with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas for over 14 years and a member of the Norfork Fire Department in the 1990's. He enjoyed gardening.
Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce DeVoney of Norfork, AR; two sons, Dane (Joan) DeVoney of IL and Chris DeVoney of WA; daughter, Michele (John) Kott of IL; step-son, Richard L. Theis of IL; two brothers, Joseph Mulman and Charles J. (Flo) DeVoney; sister, Greta Miller of IL; five grandchildren, Stacy (Leo) Ciccone, Jaremy and Jamie DeVoney, Krista (Bob) Cosman and Nicola (John) Heath all of IL; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob and Ryan Heath, Ian Cosman and Lucia Ciccone; four step-grandchildren, Mitchell and Racheal Laramie and Thomas and Timothy Theis and two step-great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Justin Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lorie DeVoney, Betty Lubarich and Helene Jedrick and her husband, Stan.
