A Funeral Service for Charles "Chuck" Gazaway of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2013 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gordon Barton officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Chuck passed away December 24, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born July 31, 1921, in Paradox, Colorado, the son of James Thurman and Leona Darling Adams Gazaway. He married Mary Elizabeth Foltz in April of 1941; Mary passed away in March of 1953. Chuck then married Juanita May on December 4, 1955, at Vernal, Utah and worked as a supervisor for the Amoco Pipeline. Chuck was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a Prisoner of War. Chuck lived in Mountain Home since 1989, moving from Chanute, Kansas. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Juanita Gazaway of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Gary Charles (Linda) Gazaway of Goldfield, NV and Kelly (Debbie) Gazaway of Elkhart, TX; two daughters, Marianne Ranes of Caney, KS and Ginger (Kevin) Morris of Henderson, AR; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Gazaway.
Private Family entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
