Charles Eugene Gilley was born April 23, 1928 at New Boston, Ohio son of Clarence Murphy Gilley and Maxine Fanning Gilley. He married Darlene Stolz of September 14, 1967 in Houston, Texas. He was a resident of Mountain Home since moving from Theodosia, Missouri and previously from Houston, Texas. He was a firefighter and worked for the Houston Fire Department from 1957-1977. He was a member of the 1st Freewill Baptist Church. Charles Eugene Gilley entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2004 at Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 1 day. Survivors: Wife: Darlene Gilley, of Mountain Home, Arkansas 3 Sons: Richard Gilley and wife Darleen of Zavalla, Texas Mark Gilley and wife Pam of Kyle, Texas Chuck Gilley Jr. and wife Jamie of Stewart, Georgia 4 Daughters: Tammy McCoy and husband Donald of Rye, Texas Robin Renee Gilley of Lufkin, Texas Ventura Gilley Alford and husband Keith of Mountain Home, Arkansas Christina Gilley and husband Tony of Mountain Home, Arkansas 17 Grandchildren 5 Great Great Grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Preceded in Death by: by his parents, a son Nickie Dean Gilley and 2 great grand children Gina Gilley and Jon Gilley. Visitation: Wednesday, October 26, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family recieving friends from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. Funeral: Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m.Thursday, October 27, 2004 at the First Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Alexander officiating.
