Charles Franklin Hall, age 78, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, died Sunday, August 19, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Charles was born December 14, 1933, to William and Cora Jones Hall in Hawkinsville, Georgia. The family eventually moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then to Fort Worth, Texas. He lived there until age 17, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for two years, and then in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. Six of the U.S. Air Force enlistment years he was stationed in Alaska, where he spent many days hunting and fishing. Charles was extremely proud of his military service. He married Lois Bowser March 16, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1963, he was discharged and returned to Fort Worth, Texas. Together, Charles and Lois had four children and were married until her death in 1979. He married Linda Price on February 7, 1983 in Fort Worth Texas. Charles worked for the Union-Pacific Railroad as a switchman/footboard yardmaster for 28 years, until he retired in 1992. After he retired, he and Linda moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He was a Western movie fan. Charles was a member of Masonic Lodge #148 of Fort Worth, Texas. He was also a member of the United Transportation Union. He is survived by his wife Linda, of Mountain Home; daughter Kathy (Joe) Pignatelli of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Rhonda Burgess of North Richland Hills, Texas; son William (Julia) Hall of Weatherford, Texas; daughter Brenda Hall of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sister Kathy (Kenneth) Ledford of Benbrook, Texas; brother William (Helen) Hall of Burleson, Texas; sister Debra Earnest of Houston, Texas; and 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by first wife, Lois, parents, brother-in-law, Jesse Phipps; granddaughter, Michelle Hall; and sister, Joyce Lewis. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 21 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be privately held at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Michael Hall, Jeremy Hall, Corey Murrell, Joe Pignatelli, Russell Webster, and David Evans, as pallbearers.
