A funeral service for Charles Owen Martin of Mountain Home, Ark., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
Charles passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 94. He was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Sheridan, Wyo., the son of Charles and Charlotte (Lottie) McClure Martin. He married Lucille Bachman on June 15, 1939, in Wenona, Ill.
He was as a machinist and owned and operated MarBach Screw Products.
Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He lived in Mountain Home, Ark., since 1987, moving from Haines City, Fla. He enjoyed RV traveling, fishing and living in Mountain Home.
He had been a longtime member of Mountain Home Bible Church. He was a faithful Christian.
Charles is survived by his son, Richard (Carol) Martin of Nashua,N.H.;daughter, Susan (John) Hughes of Sycamore, Ill.; 11 grandchildren,Amanda (Benjamin) Aseltine, Angela Martin, Michelle Martin, DeyDania Martin, Maliea Martin, Liz Martin, Luis Martin, Jeffrey (Lynne) Johnson, Michael Johnson, Jennifer (Terry) Towery and Christopher Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren, Zebadiah, Erika, Alexandra, Isabella, Melanie, Kimberly, Zachary, Blaine and Brennan. He also has two great-great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, William Martin.
Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Ark. Military honors will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks.
