Charles "Chuck" Edward Ohme passed away March 28, 2022, in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 80 surrounded by family. He was born August 13, 1941, in Ottawa, Illinois, son of Robert and Jane Eichelkraut Ohme. He loved people and worked in sales in Kankakee, Bourbonnais, and Bradley, Illinois after graduating from Ottawa High School in 1959. Chuck’s love of the great outdoors led him to St. Germain Wisconsin where he operated the Ohme’s Twin Water’s Resort from 1978 to 1983.
Seeking warmer weather, he moved to Oldsmar, Florida where he began working for Frito Lay. A long time car enthusiast, he started building Volkswagen sand rails for off-road adventures. Charles has lived in Salesville, Arkansas with his wife Kimberly Schilling of 15 years, since moving from Oldsmar, Florida, in 2007 when he retired from Frito Lay after 24 years.
Charles is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ohme of Salesville, AR; his children, James Dodd Ohme of Tampa, FL, Dane (Cathrine) Ohme of Bradley, IL, David (Alison) Ohme of Columbus, OH, Denae (John) Ohme of Bourbonnais, IL, and Jennifer Ohme of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Dorothy (Donald) Scheib of Marsellies, IL, Robert H. (Cheryl) Ohme of Ottawa, IL, and Nancy Ohme of Marsellies, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. Ohme and Jane A. Eichelkraut of Dayton, IL; his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. H. H. Ohme of Ottawa, IL, and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Eichelkraut of Ottawa, IL; and his son, Micheal Bren Ohme of Ottawa, IL.
