Charles Rogers Stanford, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Crestview, Florida. Charles was born on April 5, 1943, in Spring Hill, Louisiana, to W. R. Pete and Alice Frasier Stanford. He graduated from Manila High School in 1961 and went on to earn an honorary doctorate of theology degree from Living Life Bible College. He married Manerva "Jo" Bogun on June 16, 1963. He started his career as a pastor, working for Bowden Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas. After 48 years, he retired from Northridge Church in Pensacola, Florida, in 2013. During this time, Charles founded Emmanuel Church and Twin Lakes Christian School in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jo Stanford of Crestview, FL; daughter, Alice JoElla Stanford of Pasadena, CA; son, Jade Stanford of Destin, FL; sister, Mary England of Jonesboro, AR; grandsons Jackson Stanford and Cooper Stanford and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W.R Pete Stanford and Alice Frasier.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Charles' name to Destiny Worship Center Building Fund in Crestview, Florida.
