Charles William Heinzelmann

A Memorial service for Charles (Charlie) W. Heinzelmann will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Reverend David Gadbaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Charlie, age 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was born on October 14, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to Wilhelm and Anna (Wirsing) Heinzelmann. He lived in Worth, Illinois, and later, he and his parents moved to Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where his parents owned Bill's Buffalo House. Charlie graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He was in the Illinois National Guard and later he joined the Army. He served in the Korean War in 1954 and 1955 as a field wireman. On October 6, 1951, he married Rose Roscher, and they enjoyed 60 years together. Charlie retired from the Lake County Sheriff?s Department in Waukegan, Illinois, with 28 years of service as a deputy and a detective. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, The Twin Lakes Retired Police Association of Mountain Home, Elks Club #1714, life-time member of the V.F.W. of Mountain Home, The Pinochle Club, and the Harp?s coffee group. He and Rose enjoyed traveling, playing golf and Pinochle together.
Charlie is survived by his wife Rose and two wonderful sons and their wives: David and Trudy Heinzelmann of Bedford, Texas, and Dennis and Mary Sue Heinzelmann of McHenry, Illinois. Four Grandchildren: Sara (Thomas) Pinkerton of Lexington KY, Brian Heinzelmann of McHenry, Illinois, Janet (Marcel) De Oliveira of Euless, Texas, and Kimberly Heinzelmann of Euless, Texas. He has two great grandchildren, Diana and Michael Pinkerton. He is also survived by a cousin Ray Wirsing, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Frieda Roscher.
Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Ozarks, or the Twin Lakes Retired Police Association of Mountain Home Scholarship Fund.
