Charlie "Chuck" Mefford

A Visitation for Charlie "Chuck" Mefford of Oakland, Arkansas, will be Monday, February 17, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Chuck passed away February 13, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 71. He was born March 5, 1942, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of William and Marie DuPont Mefford. He married Sandra Craycraft on December 27, 1986, at Montgomery, Illinois and worked as a Millwright for AT&T for 30 years. Chuck lived in Oakland since moving from Montgomery, Illinois in May of 1991. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed collecting and shooting guns.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Sandra Mefford of Oakland, AR; son, Terry Mefford of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Candee (Charlie) Williams of Gamaliel, AR, and Kimmie (Jay) Parker of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Mark, Tiffanie, Amber, Ryan, and Amanda; eleven great-grandchildren, Michael, KaitLynn, Ray Ray, Alex, Jessie, James, Zoey, Kylie, Colt, Rylei, and Chance; and a brother, Bill (Darlene) Mefford of Mulberry, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patricia Desjardin, and Margerete Schulmeister; and two nephews, Rodger Sherwin and David Jeskie.
Memorials may be made to a cancer society or veteran's organization of choice.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
