Chester Williams

Chester Lee Williams was born October 12, 1929 at Dardanelle, Arkansas to Benjamin and Vivian Young Williams. He married Lois Ann Bross at Jackson, Michigan on May 24, 1974 and was a truck tire builder for Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 25 years. He served with the US Army during the Korean War and resided in the Oakland area since moving from Rives Junction, Michigan in 1981. He owned and trained harness horses in the Jackson Michigan area. Chester enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing Texas Hold-em with his card buddies. He was a member of Eagles Lodge in Midway and a lifetime member of Ozark VFW Post #3246.. Mr. Williams died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Hospice House. He was 77. Survivors: Wife Lois; 1 son Donald (Debbie) Williams of Jackson, Michigan; 2 daughters, Melody (Don) Austin of Gassville, Arkansas and Mary (Roy) Dickens of St. Louis, Missouri; 5 Grandchildren, Danyial, Don Jr., Angela, Shawn and Carrie; 1 BrotherRoger Williams of Lansing, Michigan; 2 Sisters Cleo Smith of Bay, Arkansas and Jean (W.D.) Stephens of Peel, Arkansas; 19 Great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: his parents, 2 sons Alan and David; 1 grandson John; 2 brothers Bennie & Rule; 3 sisters, Wyonna, Betty and Ruby. Funeral: A gathering of friends for Chester Lee Williams of Oakland will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Oakland Community Center. Memorials: (OAIA) or Hospice House.
