A funeral service for C. J. Parkridge, 88, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ray Postelwait officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
C.J. died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. C.J. was born December 18, 1922 in DesArc, Arkansas, the son of Willie M. and Ora Franks Parkridge. He married Evelyn Ward on May 19, 1956 at Algona, Indiana and worked as a Machinist for North American-Rockwell in California. C. J. Parkridge was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. C. J. lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since December 1990 moving from California City, California and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints.
C.J. is survived by his wife, Evelyn; 3 sons, Jackie (Sharon) Parkridge, of Kissee Mills, MO, Earl (Dianne) Hall of Flippin, AR and Ronald (Nancy) Hall of Mountain Home; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Colton Gates, David Egner, Dickie Ray Parkridge, Lee Powell, Jim Loitz and Rueben Thompson as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
