Clayton P. West of Mountain Home, age 76, passed away Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 at home. Funeral Services for Clayton will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott Speer officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2019, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be in the Crosswicks Cemetery, Trenton, New Jersey.
Clayton was born in Trenton, NJ on July 16, 1943, the son of Neil and Anna Margaret (Wright) West. He was a farmer in New Jersey and Texas for the majority of his life, ‘retiring’ to Arkansas but never really slowing down, as he continued to work as a bus driver. He loved his family dearly, and nothing made him more happy than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, and exploring new places. He spent many hours hunting and fishing, and liked to watch a variety of shows in Branson, Missouri, especially the gospel and old country music shows.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Rita (Freeman) West; children, Brian Nini (Brian Moody), Randy West (Lesa), and Russell West (Heather); grandchildren, Jayme Lawler (Gary), Kaylee (Martin Friedman) West, Zoe, Maggie, Jozie, Isaac, Oaklyn, Teddy, and Daisy; great-grandchildren, Amos, Izabella, McKenzie, Yuri and Expecting; sister, Anna Margaret "Peggy" Merwin (John); brother James West (Dorris); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clayton is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Tindall; brother, Palmer; and granddaughter, Adalyn.
