Cleola P. Padgett

Cleola Padgett, 95, of Gassville, formerly of Russell, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. She was born December 18, 1919 in Monroe County, Arkansas to the late Ewan P. and Lilly (Jones) Williams. Cleola was raised in White County and attended school in Russell. She then moved to the St. Louis, Missouri area where she lived for many years. She worked for Sears and retired from the company in 1982. Having retired she moved back to Arkansas having resided in Gassville since 1997.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Steed; a brother, G.W. Williams and her sister, Marie Williams Russell.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Padgett of Gassville; her sons, Don E. Steed and his wife Carolyn of Illinois and Larry D. Steed of Michigan; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery.
