Curt Walter Schlueter Jr. was born February 9, 1928, at Chicago, Illinois, to Curt and Eleanoar Wennman Schlueter, Sr. He married Dixie Thomas on May 19, 1998, at Mountain Home. He was a police officer with the Homewood, Illinois Police Department for 32 years. Mr. Schlueter was a Navy veteran of WWII who lived in Mountain Home since moving from Homewood, Illinois, in 1992. He was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church and the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the B.P.O. Elks of Mountain Home. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Dixie Schlueter of Mountain Home; one son, Curt W. Schlueter III of Lehigh Acres, Florida; two stepsons, Robert W. (Debra) Gardner of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Thomas J. (Cheri) Gardner of Mountain Home; one stepdaughter, Kathy (Lonnie) Tilley of Lakeview; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Harry) Boekeloo of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Ginger (Paul) Drager of Worth, Illinois; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Ballou of Lakeview. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Janice, and one great granddaughter. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Curt Walter Schlueter Jr. of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Twin Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating and Alley-White American Legion Post #52 providing military honors. Burial: Burial will be in Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood, Illinois. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
