Dr. Daniel C. Altier, 102 passed away peacefully on December 21, 2010 at 2:00 a.m. at Hospice House. Daniel was born on January 10, 1908 in Chicago, IL., the son of William Altier and Mary Barone Altier, and was the brother of 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Daniel married Lodene Rafferty at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Chicago, IL., on March 17, 1929. He practiced dentistry for 45 years in Harvey, IL. He graduated from Loyola University in 1929. He was a life member of the American Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Denture Research Group and the American Prosthodontic Society. He was the Past Exalted Ruler and a life member of the Elks in Harvey, IL., and an Elks member of Mountain Home. He was a 75 year member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Daniel is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Dingel of Galena, IL., one grandson, Christopher Siders of Chicago, IL., and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Kirby and Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer?s Association or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
