A Funeral Service for Daniel Lenox Leonard of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Ken Burton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Dan passed away March 25, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90. He was born October 27, 1924, in Lecoma, Missouri, the son of Elmer and Ethel Weber Leonard. He married Marjorie Denzil Harris on October 1, 1999, at Salem, Missouri and worked as a Railroad Engineer for the Norfolk-Southern Railroad. Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1984 moving from St. Louis, Missouri. He was a member of Alley-White American Legion Post #52, Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246, Eagles Lodge #3183 FOE, Gun Owners of America and National Rifle Association.
Dan is survived by his wife, Denzil Leonard of Mountain Home, AR; step-daughter, Joyce (Larry) Horn of Evansville, IN and step-son, Ron (Linda) Harris of Rolla, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ila Vern Leonard; three brothers, John Leonard, Claude Leonard and Jimmy Leonard and three sisters, Marjorie Weitekemper, Lynn Altmayer and Helen Leonard.
Burial will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2014 in the Victor-Anutt Cemetery, Anutt, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
