A Funeral Service for Darrel Leon Gelsinger of Gepp, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village, with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
Darrel passed away September 4, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 75. He was born September 15, 1940, in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Orville and Dorothy Durbin Gelsinger. He married Marlene Rosenow on July 11, 1981, at Roscoe, Illinois and was owner and operator of Da-Mar's Equipment Company. Darrel lived in Gepp since moving from Roscoe, Illinois, in 2005. He was a member of the Walleye Fishing Club and Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Marlene Gelsinger of Gepp, AR; son, Andy (Laura) Gelsinger of Janesville, WI; two step-sons, Donald (Vickie) Jamerson of Loves Park, IL, and Paul (Jamie) Jamerson of Roscoe, IL; brother, Richard (Alice) Gelsinger of Maryville, TN; granddaughter, Natalie Gelsinger; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and many special friends, including Jim and Kay VanMatre.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-daughter, Kathryn Jamerson-Scarpetta.
