A Memorial Service for Dave W. Coker of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 28, 2013, at the Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE, with President Stu Friend officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Dave passed away March 23, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. He was born August 3, 1933, in Rogers County, Oklahoma, the son of Dempsey and Marie Lockhart Coker. He married Lorena Williams on February 18, 1971, at Anchorage, Alaska and worked as an Oil Field Technician for Arco Alaska. Dave was a U.S. Army veteran and lived in Mountain Home since 1995, moving from Anchorage, Alaska. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and was an avid fisherman.
Dave is survived by his wife, Lorena Coker of Mountain Home, AR; son, Timothy Coker of Mountain Home, AR; three daughters, Linda (Rudy) Cervantez of San Jose, CA, Sharon (Randy) Gray of Keokuk, IA and Debbie (Dennis) Daines of Hamilton, IL; brother, Roy (Joy) Coker of Galina, IL; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia Ray and brothers, Garland and Lester Coker.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Elks National Foundation.
