David Blanke

David Henry Blanke of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on August 18, 2024 at the age of 71. He was born on October 1, 1952, in Harvey, Illinois, to Henry and Helen Yost Blanke. A dedicated U.S. Marines veteran, David served during the Vietnam War and enjoyed a fulfilling career as an engineer. In 2014, he relocated to Mountain Home from Munster, Indiana. David was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and had a deep passion for fishing, hunting, and traveling. He also contributed to his community as a member of the American Legion and previously served as Post Commander at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.).

He is survived by his two sons, David (Lindsay) Blanke, Jr. of Arcadia, IN, and Jason Blanke of Avon, IN; his daughter, Megan M. Blanke of Cicero, IN; his life partner, Patricia McCoy of Mountain Home, AR; his sister, Debbie Blanke of Mountain Home, AR; three granddaughters, Kloey, Makala, and Ariel; and a great-granddaughter, Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Blanke.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for David will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Military Honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are being handled by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
