David Verne Craven was born October 28, 1921 in Thomas, West Virginia. He was the son of Lloyd H. and Marjorie Phelps Craven. He married Lois Gene Hilliard April 18, 1942 in North Tonawanda, New York. David was a retired supervisor of the DuPont Chemical Plant in Niagara Falls, New York and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a volunteer fireman in western New York, and he loved to read, fish, and "tinker". He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. David Verne Craven passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center on April 30, 2005, at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 2 days. Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Lois Craven of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son, David J. Craven of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters, Sandra Lee (Gayle) Waldeck of Matthews, North Carolina and Kathryn Gene Fowler of Mountain Home, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Kim May of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Karyn Graves, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Rebecca Craven of Oklahoma, Danielle Thompson of North Carolina, Andrea Sullivan, Barbara Sullivan and Michael Gorman, all of Charlotte, North Carolina and thirteen great-grandchildren Preceded in Death by: Parents; two brothers, Harold L. Craven of Lakeland, Florida and Robert L. Craven of Wilmington, Delaware; daughter, Margaret Ann Craven of Charlotte, North Carolina, and two grandsons, Aaron Waldeck of Buffalo, New York and Bryce Craven of Charlotte, North Carolina Funeral: A memorial service for David Verne Craven of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2005 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Henning officiating.
