David J. Thomas, known as Dave by family and friends, resident of Mountain Home, AR passed into the loving arms of Jesus at age 80 at the Hospice of the Ozarks on July 23, 2018. Dave was born on February 7, 1938 in Montclair, NJ to Theodore W. and Elizabeth Thomas (Hill). Dave married Susan Richardson of Clifton, NJ on April 9, 1961. Dave work for NJ public service before going into electrical contractor business ownership lasting 35 years until retirement. In 2003, Dave and Sue left the fast pace of New Jersey and moved to Flippin, AR. Together they moved to Mountain Home, AR in September 2017.
Dave loved Sue, he also loved to travel, was an avid reader and his sense of humor brightened your life. His tech savvy skills provided memories to loved ones through his videography of special occasions, whether it was anniversary celebrations, or funerals. Dave’s volunteer activities led to being President of the Bull Shoals Historical Society in 2008 and more recently, Baxter Regional Medical Center volunteer assisting patients, families and visitors.
Dave is survived by his wife Susan; children, Deborah Hicks of Trenton, NJ, Jennifer (Gary) Fleenor of Canby, OR and Colleen (Paul) Cannizzo of San Antonio TX; brother Theodore (Sandy) Thomas; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service for Dave will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018, at St Andrews Episcopal Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Reverend Kevin Gore officiating.
