David Jones Hambleton went home to live with his Heavenly Father on Sunday September 9, 2007 at 8:15 PM. He was born at home in Roxana Illinois on November 11, 1926 to the late William Charles and Myrtle (Jones) Hambleton. He married Doris Belle Robbins on October 31, 1970 in Joliet Illinois, she survives. He was a very dedicated member of the Bull Shoals Theater, VFW, Bull Shoals Volunteer Fire Department, and Rotary. He was an active member of the Community of Christ church in Mountain Home Arkansas. After serving in the US Navy during WW II, he began his working career at Shell Oil Refinery in Roxana, Illinois. Following in his father's footsteps he became active in Local 660 of the Machinists Union in East Alton Illinois. In 1970 he moved to Joliet Illinois and became a Traveling Grand Lodge Auditor for the Union. In 1975 he moved to Silver Springs Maryland and began a career working for the International Headquarters for the IAM. David retired in 1989 as the General Secretary Treasurer for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospaceworkers. He and his wife Doris moved to Bull Shoals Arkansas later that year. Preceded in Death by: In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by:His sister Mary Elizabeth Hambleton and an infant brother William Charles Hambleton. Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday September 11, 2007 and will continue from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Wednesday September 12, 2007. Funeral: 1:00 PM Wednesday September 12, 2007 at Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Bull Shoals Arkansas with Elders Lois Jean Brooks and Gary Epps officiating. Burial: Newton Flat Cemetery in Bull Shoals Arkansas Memorials: Community of Christ Church in Mountain Home or the American Diabetes Association.
