David Lee Tucker, eighty-eight, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. David was born on June 1, 1935 in Gassville, Arkansas, to Hiram and Rena Lamb Tucker. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1953. He married Nadine Reed on June 16, 1956 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He and Nadine owned and operated Tucker Lumber Company for forty years. He was a member of Whiteville Baptist Church.
David is survived by his three children, Dedra Lynn Lonon and husband Roger, of West Plains, Missouri, David Reed Tucker and wife Shawn, of Whiteville, Arkansas, and Paul Scott Tucker and fiancé Elizabeth Turner, of West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Ashlee Cox and husband Zach, Justin Lonon and wife Tonya, Karlee Taylor and husband Brent, Ally Rowe and husband Aron, Jadyn Tucker, Clayton Tucker and wife Kristin, and Destyne Pritchard and husband Ethan; and six great-grandchildren, Karissa Lonon, Braxton and Kase Taylor, Estelle and Della Tucker, and Charlee Pritchard. He is also survived by his second wife, Shirley Matthews, of Cotter, Arkansas and one sister, Ima McKee Finger, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
David Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; his parents; and eight siblings, Grady Tucker, Velma Bell, Inez Summers, Rex Tucker, Leon Tucker, Bertha Jones, Arvil Tucker, and Hiram Jr. Tucker.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 2:00pm at Gassville Baptist Church, with Reverend Gene Carson officiating. Burial will be in Whiteville Baptist Cemetery, in Whiteville, Arkansas with Clayton Tucker, Terry Tucker, Chris Reed, Eugene Reed, Brad Dilbeck, and Donald Marler as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Tucker, Phillip Bell, Rex Goodspeed, Carl Sisney, Freddie Crownover, Roger Haley, and Ronnie Sallee.
