David A. Spina

A Community Memorial Service for David A. Spina, resident of Flippin, Arkansas and Fire Chief of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department will be 10AM Saturday May 30, 2015, at the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department.

David passed away May 17, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 66. He was born October 22, 1948, in Joliet, Illinois, the son of Gildo and Genevieve Boyd Spina. He married Kathleen Wolz on May 23, 1980, in Illinois and worked as a Civil Engineer in the construction industry. David was one of the original founders of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for over twenty seven years. David was a good and kind man who's motto in life was "If you can help someone along the way, why wouldn't you".

David is survived by his wife, Kathleen Spina of Flippin, AR; sons, Alan Johnson of Dubuque, IA, and Todd (Kristyn) Johnson of Plainfield, IL; daughter, Jill Williams of Flippin, AR; sister, Deanna Fox of Bull Shoals, AR; brother, Jim (Susan) Spina of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Paige Williams, Brandon Johnson, Katie Johnson and Van Miller Johnson; his nieces and nephews; his canine companion, Shadow and his extended family of fire fighters. He was preceded in death by his parents
