A Celebration of Life for David Lee Suenram of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 2PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Moundridge Funeral Home Chapel in Moundridge, Kansas.

David passed away September 5, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. David grew up in Moundridge and Wichita, Kansas. After graduating high school, he earned his Bachelor's degree at Pittsburg State University where he also competed as a track athlete in the men's 440. David graduated from Pittsburg State and joined the Navy flight school in Pensacola, Florida. In 1957 he married Norma Smith, who would be his wife for 58 years. Shortly after they were wed, the couple returned to Pittsburg where David received his Masters degree. In 1958 the couple welcomed their son, Jack, and David accepted his first coaching job at Parkview High School in Springfield, Missouri. David and his family then moved to Illinois where he coached at Morton West High School for three years. In 1967 he accepted a position at Pittsburg State University as men's track and cross country coach for over 15 years. David became the Athletic Director at Pittsburg before his career took the family to Cal State San Bernardino where he worked as Director of Athletics for six years before retiring to Bull Shoals, Arkansas, with his wife Norma in 1995. David was an avid fisherman and continued his dedication to athletics by being a starter at Pittsburgh State and high schools in Missouri and Arkansas. He remained in excellent physical condition by running and walking at least three days a week.

David is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Suenram of Bull Shoals, AR, and son, Jack Suenram of Omaha, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
