David Eugene Thorn

A Memorial Service for David Eugene Thorn of Cotter, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Susie Wilson, officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

David passed away November 22, 2016, in Cotter, Arkansas at the age of 74. He was born November 20, 1942, in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Jewel "Gene" and Betty Burris Thorn. He married Tracey Bland on June 13, 2005, at Mountain Home, Arkansas and worked as a car salesman for Ultimate Auto Group. David was a U.S Army veteran of the Vietnam War. David lived in the Mountain Home area since 1976, moving from Ironton, Missouri. He enjoyed genealogy and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

David is survived by his wife, Tracey Thorn of Cotter, AR; son, Scott Thorn of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughter, Nico Thorn of Murfreesboro, TN; stepson, Clay Strain of Cotter, AR; two brothers, Carl (Debbie) Thorn of Titusville, FL and Dale Thorn of Ironton, MO; one sister, Donna Hill of Ironton, MO; and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jewel "Gene" Thorn and his mother, Betty Thorn.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Wounded Warrior Program.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
