Debra Nell Prohaska

October 4, 1959 — October 29, 2023

Debra Prohaska, 64, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Debra was born on October 4th, 1959, in Piggott, Arkansas, to Floyd Gilbert and Roberta Decker Gilbert. She married Michael Prohaska on July 5th, 1985.
She was dedicated and hardworking, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. Debra's love for her family and friends was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She had a long work history and was enjoying semi-retirement, working seasonally for H&R Block as a checker, where she had many good friends and fond memories.
Debra had a passion for baking and cooking, and her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where she prepared delicious meals and treats for her loved ones. Her green thumb and love for sunshine led her to spend countless hours in her garden, and the garden she shared with cousins Paul and Marshella Norell, and by the lake, where she found peace and joy in the beauty of nature.
She was a valued member of the West Road Church of Christ, a close-knit congregation she held dear to her heart. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and her presence within the church community will be greatly missed.
Debra's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Prohaska (son-in-law Kevin Baker), her sister Katie Knight (brother-in-law Greg Knight), her granddaughter Sully Courtway, all of Mountain Home, Arkansas and many cherished extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Roberta, her stepfather Charles Tanner, her husband Michael, her siblings Michael Nenna, Glen Gilbert, and Barbara Flick, brother-in-law David Flick and niece Andria Flick.
A memorial service to celebrate Debra's life will be held in the spring, exact details will be announced by the family beforehand.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any charity of choice in her honor. She herself made regular donations to the Food Bank of Arkansas and to the Humaine Society.
