A Funeral Service for Delmar Ray Barrett of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gary Wise officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Ray passed away December 3, 2017, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 82. He was born March 11, 1935, in Earth, Texas, the son of Cecil and Jenny Pillow Barrett. He retired as the Program Manager of Meat Inspection for the New Mexico Livestock Board. He enjoyed fly fishing and camping. He had a lifelong love of horses, rodeos, and ranching. He was a former president of the Mountain Home Saddle Club. One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Garry) Peppers of Jonesboro, AR; granddaughter, Amy (Dan) Ward of Austin, AR; two great-grandchildren, Ledger Michael Ward and Emerson Edward Ward; sister, Carolyn (Ken) Oliver of Roswell, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Zella Louise Barrett, two brothers and one sister.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
