A Funeral Service for Delora H. Martin of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Delora passed away December 20, 2018, in Nixa, Missouri at the age of 99. She was born August 6, 1919, in Caddo, Oklahoma, the daughter of Zachery Moody Hutchings and Vennie Lenora Hutchings. She married William L. "Dub" Martin on November 7, 1935, in Wolfe City, Texas, and was an accountant for Globe Life Insurance Company, Shreveport, Louisiana, until she retired and moved to Norfork, Arkansas. Delora lived in Nixa, Missouri since moving from Norfork, in 2008. She was a member of the Galatia Assembly of God Church in Norfork, Arkansas, until she moved to Christian Care of Nixa. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and crocheting. She always kept a pie crust ready in the freezer for unexpected guests to enjoy one of her favorite pecan pies.
Delora is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Paul) League of Springfield, MO and Ann Martin Norris of Quitman, TX and son, Daniel (Danny) Lee Martin of Mountain Home, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Lee “Dub” Martin Jr.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Daniel Lee (Danny)Martin, Dan Paul League and Jeff D. Norris as pallbearers.
