Denise Schill

Denise Enslen Schill of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away June 5, 2024, in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, at the age of 100. She was born February 24, 1924, in Algiers, Algeria.  She married Robert Enslen July 12, 1948, in Algeria. Together, they started a family with two daughters, Jacqueline and Renee. Denise attended the University of Southern California and obtained her PhD at the age of 50, then was a teacher for the rest of her life. She and Robert retired and moved from California to Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 1993. After Robert passed away in 2005, she married Robert Schill on April 10, 2006, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They moved from Mountain Home to Signal Mountain. Throughout her life, she enjoyed painting, knitting, sewing, and traveling.

Denise is survived by her husband, Robert Schill of Signal Mountain, TN; daughters, Jacqueline Garcon of Gif sur Yvette, France, and Renee Tyler of Folsom, CA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Frank Enslen; she is the last and youngest of a family of seven.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 9:00 am until service time at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Service for Denise will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Daniel Thueson officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorial donations may be made to AVT Scholarship Fund, 437 Alexian Way, Signal Mountain, TN 37377.
