Dewayne Garvin Carroll died Friday, October 19, 2007 in Mountain Home. He was 89. Dewayne Garvin Carroll was born Monday, February 18, 1918 in Valley Springs, AR, son of Felix G. Carroll and Mary Eleanor Askew. He married Buna May Kellogg on March 24, 1940 at Little Rock Arkansas. He worked as a Local Manager in Mountain Home for Arkansas Power & Light for 30 years. Garvin lived in Mountain Home since 1951 having moved from Harrison, Arkansas. He was a member and active deacon of First Baptist Church, former president of Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, past president of Mountain Home Rotary Club (1955-1956), member of Masonic Lodge of Western Grove, Arkansas, Scottish Rite Valley of Little Rock, Past Worthy Patron Order of Eastern Star # 569 and Scimitar Temple of Little Rock. Survivors: Garvin is survived by his daughter Carolyn May (Ken) Necessary of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Mark, Cathy (John) and Steve (Mary); 4 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Makensie, Megan and Nicholas and his sister, Clara Fay Barger of Valley Springs, Arkansas . Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his wife, Buna May Carroll, his parents, and brother Louie. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Services for Dewayne Garvin Carroll of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday October 24, 2007 at First Baptist Church , with Dr. David Johnson and Reverend Max Pyron officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Arkansas Memorials: Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church. Honorary Bearers: Robert Nelson, Ralph Harrison, Carl Weaver and the Deacon's of First Baptist Church. Active Bearers: Kenny Darr, Frank Huckaba, Russell Miller, Stewart Rogers, Jim Sommer and Lane Strother
