Dolores "Dori" Helen Ulmer

A Memorial Service for Dolores "Dori" Helen Ulmer of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 2PM Friday May 12, 2017, at Flippo's Carefree Living in Bull Shoals, AR with Dr. Reverend Fred Taylor officiating.

Dolores passed away April 29, 2017, in Bull Shoals, Arkansas at the age of 95. She was born July 7, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Ancil and Helen Cantway Shoemaker. She married John Fred Ulmer Sr. on August 16,1947, in Chicago, IL. and worked as a Service Manager for Jewel Foods for twenty years. Dolores and John retired from Dalton, Illinois to Pine Mountain after 15 years they moved to Bull Shoals and enjoyed boating, gardening and visits from family.

Dolores and John traveled to many places and made a great team. She was a member of the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church. The past 13 years after John's death in 1998 were spent at Flippo's Carefree Living in Bull Shoals where she considered fellow residents and staff to be a part of her family. She never missed a chance to tell others the joys of living at Carefree.

Dolores is survived by her son, John Ulmer (Cathryn) of Arvada, CO; three grandchildren, Chris, Tim and Jackie and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Burial will be held in Illinois at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church.
