Funeral Services for Dolores "Dee" Merritt of Bull Shoals, AR will be at 2PM Wednesday December 30, 2009 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, AR. Visitation will be from 12PM until time of service. Dee passed away suddenly December 24, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. She was 78.
Dee was born at Hope, IN to Henry and Irene Curwick Grinstead on August 9, 1931. She married Jack Merritt at Bull Shoals, AR on May 3, 1981. Before retiring to Bull Shoals in 1994 Jack and Dee owned Marycrest Lanes in Kankakee, IL. She was an active member of the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Bull Shoals-Fire Auxiliary, Bull Shoals Police Auxiliary, the Lion's Club and a volunteer at the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts and the Little Bit Used Shop. Dee was a life-long bowler and loved living in Bull Shoals. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Roxanne Caulder (Walter) of Kathleen, GA. and Misty Kerouac (Thomas) of Bourbonnais , IL, one sister; Betty (Niel) Eskildsen of Bull Shoals, AR.; one brother, Donald Grinstead (Beverly) of California, one sister in law Jean Grinstead of IL., 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Charity of Choice.
