Donald "Don" L Douglas

Donald Lee Douglas of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 7, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born March 8, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. Don was a U.S. Army veteran. After a previous marriage, he married Jean Wedge on April 4, 1975 in Morton Grove, IL. After moving from Wheeling, IL to Mountain Home, Arkansas the couple opened Timberlane Pet Motel, which they operated for 27 years. Don and Jean spent 33 years together before Jean passed in 2008. In his younger years, Don played professional baseball for one of the Chicago Cubs Farm Teams. He enjoyed bowling, golf, painting, and polishing rocks. He loved animals and designed several buildings for the Humane Society. While working at the Humane Society, he met his late wife, Alice Schultz. Don and Alice were married on April 3, 2015 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He adored her and the couple shared 7 wonderful years loving each other.

Don is survived by two children from his first marriage, Bryan and Donna; and Alice’s children, Mark (Heather) Gehring and Lori Lillie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Jean Douglas; and wife, Alice Douglas.

Entombment will take place at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum
