Funeral services for Donald Duane Durbon of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Promise Land Bible Church, with Pastor Mike Brinkmeier officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM , Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Donald passed away January 12, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society, at the age of 84. He was born May 31, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Otto and Claire Bauer Durbon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean times. An electrician by trade, he retired from Peoples Gas in Chicago after 32 years. He married Lorraine Sepanik Soliday in 1982. In 1987, they moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, forming Durbon’s Noe Creek Restaurant and Resort. They officially retired after more than 10 years in business. He loved to go camping, fishing, tell stories, tinker and fix almost anything. Donald was a lifetime member of PLACO (Promise Land Area Community Organization), the “Camping Club” and Hoevel-Barnett Post #1341.
Donald is survived by 1 son, Scott Durbon (Tami) of Hampshire, IL; 2 daughters, Diane Durbon of Cape Coral, FL and Laura Trusk (Ray) of Burbank, IL; 1 sister, Darla White of Merrionette Park, IL; son-in-law, Michael Warno of Lakeview, AR; daughter-in-law, Barb Soliday of Evergreen Park, IL; 8 grandsons; 6 granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 great-nieces. He was a great friend to many in Chicago, Iowa, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; brother in law, Sam Sepanik; daughter, Linda Warno Sutton and sons, Lester and Ralph Soliday.
