Donald Edmonds died Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 75. He was born Tuesday, October 10, 1933 in Effingham, Kansas, the son of Ernest and Thelma Hawk Edmonds. He married Cheryl Brock on August 20, 1959 at Wichita, Kansas and worked as an elementary education teacher and principal for the Kansas Public School System. Donald Edmonds was a peacetime U.S. Army veteran. Donald lived in Mountain Home since 1999 moving from Clay Center, Kansas. Survivors: Donald Edmonds is survived by his wife, Cheryl Edmonds, son, Allen Edmonds of Belton, MO, 2 daughters, Melissa (Marty) Upchurch of Fishers, IN and Angela (Randy) Fisher of Andover, KS, 7 grandchildren, Jacob Edmonds, Misha, Lienna, Ange and Waldy Upchurch, Tyler and Caleb Traylor and 2 sisters, Margaret Brown of Wichita, KS and Mary Voth of St. Louis, MO. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral: Funeral services for Donald Courtney Edmonds of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Elders, Lois Jean and Waymon Brooks officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Society for the Cure of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or the Community of Christ Church.
