Donald Richards

A Memorial Service for Donald Lee Richards of Alexandria, Louisiana, will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Norfork Baptist Church, with Pastor David Wiley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Donald passed away March 23, 2012, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 78. He was born July 5, 1933, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of William Albert and Elizabeth Richards. He married Gladys Mae Andrews on August 8, 1951 at Pineville, Louisiana. Donald was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the Air Force as a Tech. Sergeant after 21 years of service. Donald lived in Alexandria, Louisiana since February moving from Mountain Home. Donald is survived by his 6 daughters, Susan Ann Butler, of Waynesboro, VA, Debra (James) Funderburk, of Woodworth, LA, Natalie Davis, of Forrest City, AR, Donna Richards, of Pineville, LA, Siobhan (Tony) Lyons, of Nashville, TN and Melissa Jeane Richards, of Mountain Home, AR; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, James and Emmett Richards, and one grandson, Bryan Michael Richards Ober. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52. Memorials may be made to Norfork Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
