Ret. Colonel Donald J. Rogers, 73, passed away June 14, 2010 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Doris Rogers, brother, Edward Rogers, sister, Julianne Hoover, and multiple children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Don had a successful Air Force career including assignments at the Pentagon and on the Air Force Inspector General's Team. After leaving the military in 1982, Don initiated and built the first Hazardous Materials Program for Riverside County, California. Upon retiring from California in 1993, Don and his wife Doris frequently traveled around the U.S. and abroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and earned the Arkansas Triple Trophy Award three times. He was instrumental in teaching his grandchildren about the wonders of fishing. Don was one of those dads and granddads that anyone would be proud of. He will be greatly missed by all those lives that he touched. Services will be at a later date in Salt Lake City, Utah. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
