Mr. Ruff was born March 21, 1930, at Harrison to Ulis and Winnie Ruff. He graduated from Marshall High School and earned an associate degree at Arkansas Tech University. He was a longtime businessman in the Mountain Home area. Mr. Ruff owned Don's Feed and Supply and was a land developer and a devoted community servant. He married Beverly Jo Ruff July 4, 1996, at Lake Tahoe, Nev. Mr. Ruff was a member of Church of Christ, National Cutting Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association. Survivors: Mr. Ruff is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Sanger; daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Lindsey and husband Joseph Kraus of Santa Fe, N.M.; son Donald Gene "Donnie" Ruff Jr. and wife Deborah of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepdaughter Darla Woods and husband Tim of Dallas; sister Anna Jane Hickman of Mountain Home; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Preceded in Death by: Mr. Ruff was preceded in death by his parents, Ulis and Winnie Ruff; one sister, Gladys Griffin; and one grandson, Scott Harned. Funeral: Graveside services for Donald Gene Ruff Sr., 77, of Sanger, formerly of Mountain Home, will be at noon Saturday at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Ruff died Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Burial: Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Honorary Bearers: Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Ruff, Marshall Ruff, Taylor Ruff, Preston Ruff and Jason Harned.
