Donald A. Ward was born in Chicago, Illinois, September 4, 1926. He served two years in the United States Navy and after discharge, he received a degree in mechanical engineering.
Don moved to Bull Shoals in 1979, and married Joan in 1982. He loved working with wood and building furniture and also painting and artwork.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna J. Ward; father, A.G. Ward; aunt and uncle, Alida and Joe Foley, and two stepsons, Ronald Reece and John Reece.
Survivors include his wife, Joan L. Ward of Mountain Home, AR; cousin, Hellene King of Wheaton, MD; stepdaughters, Susan Lindenmeyer (Terry) of Midway, AR, Diane Zera (Wayne) of Mountain Home, AR, Barbara Reece of Midway, AR and Thea Kok of Amsterdam, Netherlands and five step-grandchildren, Blase of Spring Valley, IL, Julie of Tonica, IL, Lisa and Jeff of Midway, AR and Maite of Vienna, Austria.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Donald W. Reynolds Baxter County Library.
A Family Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
