Doris Ashby was born August 19, 1915, at Vallard, MN, to J.W. and Eva McDonald Rhodes. She married Charles Ashby on January 15, 1944 at Waukegan, IL. She was an elementary school teacher for 14 years before retiring to be a stay at home mom. Mrs. Ashby lived in Fairfield Bay, AR before moving to Mountain Home in 1993. She was a member of the P.E.O., and was an accomplished rose mauling artist and avid bridge player. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors: Mrs. Ashby is survived by her husband, Charles Ashby, of Mountain Home, 2 sons, Doug Ashby, of Boone, Iowa, and Robert (Diane) Ashby, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and 1 grandson, Erik Ashby, also of Cedar Rapids Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister Funeral: Services for Doris Ashby of Mountain Home will be at a later date in Southern Iowa.
